Antonin Ricou is an independent visual designer focused on building meaning and value to messages through visual
communication. From media to graphic design, his practice navigates the boundaries between print and digital
form. Driven by an understanding of visual language, he explores how form and message interact through the
organization of image and typography within society.
From books and editorial design to visual identities and digital media, his practice develops through the
creation of visual systems designed to adapt and evolve across different media. Combining print-based
knowledge with contemporary technologies, he also develops custom tools and integrates emerging technologies
as part of his design process, exploring new ways of producing and structuring visual forms. His work focuses
on creating visual systems and design tools that address and engage with political and social dimensions.
Across education, practice, and research, he leads an engagement with societal issues connected to the social
sciences, using design to question and interpret the transformations of the world around us.
